Work Camp
Projects
The goal of most of our projects is to keep clients in their homes. Work Camp volunteers build ramps, repair porches and steps, paint exteriors. New skirting is installed on mobile homes as needed. Smaller jobs include clearing debris from yards and general lawn maintenance. Some Work Camp groups conduct Vacation Bible School for children in the community.
Dates and Participation
Work Camp is usually scheduled for June and July. Other dates are available on request. Campers are middle school and high school age with adults in their group to supervise on each work site. Work teams of adults only are also welcomed.
Volunteer Housing
Housing is provided by host churches near the work sites. Air mattresses and sleeping bags transform classrooms into dormitories. Work Camp groups have access to the church kitchen and are responsible for their own meals. Shower facilities are provided.
Cost
The group registration fee is $700 for a week and is due by March 1st to reserve your date. The materials fee is $125 per person (half due April 15, half due week of camp).
